Ververica, the original creator of Apache Flink and a specialist in real-time data streaming, today unveiled a roadmap for its “Bring Your Own Cloud” (BYOC) deployment option for the Ververica Streaming Data Platform.
The company unveiled its plans for a BYOC deployment option in Berlin at Flink Forward, the company’s annual event for Apache Flink and the streaming data community.
The new deployment option, which will be available in late November 2024, is expected to provide a managed Apache Flink environment that leverages customers’ existing cloud infrastructure to leverage the full flexibility and scalability of Ververica’s Streaming Data Platform. At launch, BYOC deployments will initially be available to customers running AWS infrastructure, with plans to expand to other major cloud providers such as Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure soon after.
BYOC deployment of the Streaming Data Platform, based on the company’s VERA engine, enables customers to develop batch and real-time streaming applications while leveraging the security posture of their existing cloud environments. Designed and developed entirely in-house by Ververica, BYOC is built to be zero-trust compliant, ensuring customers own data management and maintain data sovereignty as data is securely hosted in cloud environments they control.
Vladimir Jandreski, Chief Product Officer at Ververica, said: “As organizations increasingly look for both flexibility and security in their cloud infrastructures, we are proud to introduce a solution that strikes the perfect balance. Our new offering allows users to leverage their existing investments while benefiting from a seamlessly integrated zero-trust approach. We believe this is a game changer for businesses that want to remain agile without compromising control and security.”
BYOC also enables seamless integration with an organization’s existing technology stack. This is especially useful for connecting to existing DevOps tools and processes, CI/CD pipelines, and other critical tools while ensuring faster application development lifecycles with less downtime. The scalability of the platform also means enterprises can optimize their real-time workloads and batch loads while maintaining cost efficiency without compromising their cloud strategy.
Alexander Walden, CEO of Ververica, said: “At Ververica, we are committed to powering our customers’ streaming data and ensuring they achieve measurable business value out of the box compared to open source Apache Flink.
“With speeds up to twice as fast as open source Flink, our new BYOC deployment offering is just one of many steps we’re taking to ensure our customers’ streaming solutions are as flexible, powerful and secure as possible.”
