Introducing Buy with AWS: accelerated procurement on AWS partner sites powered by AWS Marketplace | Amazon Web Services

Voiced by Polly

Today, we’re announcing Buy with AWS, a new way to discover and purchase solutions available on AWS Marketplace from AWS partner sites. You can use Purchasing with AWS to speed up and streamline the process of purchasing products on non-Amazon Web Services (AWS) sites. This feature gives you the ability to search, try, and buy solutions from partner sites using your AWS account

AWS Marketplace is a curated digital store where you can find, buy, deploy, and manage cloud solutions from partners. Buying with AWS is the next step to AWS Marketplace, making it easier for you to find and acquire the right partner solutions whenever and wherever you need them. You can conveniently find and procure solutions on AWS Marketplace, through AWS integrated service consoles, and now on partner websites.

Accelerate the discovery and evaluation of cloud solutions

You can now discover solutions from partners that are available for purchase through the AWS Marketplace when you explore solutions on the non-AWS site.

Search partner sites for products that are “available on AWS Marketplace,” then speed up the evaluation process with quick access to free trials, demo requests, and custom pricing inquiries.

For example, I want to evaluate Wiz to see how it can help with my cloud security requirements. While browsing the Wiz website I come across a page where I see “Connect Wiz with Amazon Web Services (AWS)”.

i choose Try it with AWS. If I’m not already signed in, it will ask me to sign in to my AWS account. I am then presented with a Wiz and AWS co-branded page to sign up for a free trial.

The discovery you see will vary depending on the type of partner site you are purchasing from. Wiz is an example of how purchasing with AWS can be implemented by an independent software vendor (ISV). Now let’s look at the example of an AWS Marketplace Channel Partner, or a seller who runs his own store.

I’m browsing the Bytes store with product listings from the AWS Marketplace. I have the ability to filter and search from curated lists of products available on the AWS Marketplace on the Bytes website.

i choose View details for Fortinet and look at the option Request a private quote from AWS.

As you can tell, on the Channel Partner site, you can browse the curated product listings available on AWS Marketplace, filter products, and request custom pricing right from their site.

Make it easy to purchase products on AWS partner sites
I had a seamless shopping experience using AWS to access the free trial for Wiz and browsing the Bytes store to request a private quote.

Now I want to try Databricks for one of the apps I’m building. I signed up for a Databricks trial through their website.

And thing Upgrade and see Databricks is available on AWS Marketplace which gives me an option Buy with AWS.

i choose Buy with AWSand after I sign in to my AWS account, I’m taken to the Databricks and AWS Marketplace co-branded purchase page.

I complete the purchase on the co-branded purchase page and proceed to set up my Databricks account.

As you can tell, I didn’t have to go through the challenge of managing purchasing processes for multiple vendors. I also didn’t have to speak to a sales representative or plug a new vendor into my billing system, which would have required multiple approvals and delayed the overall process.

Access centralized billing and benefits through AWS Marketplace
Because Buy with AWS purchases are made and managed in AWS Marketplace, you can also benefit from AWS Marketplace’s post-purchase experience, including AWS consolidated billing, centralized subscription management, and access to cost optimization tools.

For example, through the AWS Billing and Cost Management console, I can centrally manage all of my AWS purchases, including Buy with AWS purchases, from one dashboard. I can easily access and process invoices for all of my organization’s AWS purchases. I also need to have valid AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) permissions to manage subscriptions and make purchases through AWS Marketplace.

AWS Marketplace not only simplifies invoicing for me, but also helps me stay in control of my spend by helping me manage purchasing authority and subscription access for my organization with centralized visibility and controls. I can manage my budget with AWS pricing flexibility, cost transparency, and cost management tools.

Shop with AWS for Partners
Buying with AWS enables partners who sell or resell products on AWS Marketplace to create new solution discovery and shopping opportunities for customers on their own websites. By adding call-to-action (CTA) buttons to their website, such as “Buy with AWS”, “Try Free with AWS”, “Request a Private Quote”, and “Request a Demo”, partners can help accelerate product evaluation and the journey to – shopping for customers.

By integrating with the AWS Marketplace API, partners can display products from the AWS Marketplace catalog, allow customers to sort and filter products, and streamline private offers. Partners implementing Purchasing with AWS have access to AWS Marketplace creative resources and news feeds to guide them in building their own web experiences. Partners who implement Buy with AWS have access to metrics for engagement and conversion performance statistics.

The Buy with AWS registration guide on the AWS Marketplace management portal describes how partners can get started.
